Chakra

Chakra is what enables ninja to use jutsus. Chakra if used up completely can kill a ninja, so as you can tell chakra is very important. Chakra runs through everyone by something called a chakra system (see picture below), but only ninja know how to channel the chakra.

The Eight Inner Gates

There is 8 specific places where chakra is stored in the body, and if these storage units are opened you can gain tremendous abilities. The first gate enables you to be faster and stronger, the second gate heals you and makes you faster and stronger, once reaching the third gate your so strong you turn red, and it is believed that when you reach the sixth gate you move so fast your body is burning with fire, and from there on you just keep getting stronger. Howver the higher number gate you open the more damage it does to your body, after opening number 8, you'll die.

Chakra Points

There are chakra points, which are specific chakra circulatory system points, you have 361, and they're all only the size of the head of a pen. Hitting one directly can hault or increase chakra flow, depending on how the attacker strikes the chakra point.

Different Chakras

There is many different chakras. First I'd like to talk about the strength of chakra. Chakra strength is grouped into C-1, C-2, C-3, and C-4. C-1 is the weakest and C-4 is the highest. Akatski members contain C-4 chakra inside of them, but people with high chakra control can decide which kind of these chakras they wish to use.

There is also different colors of chakra, normal chakra is blue, the foxs chakra is red, healing chakra is green and so on and so on.

Storing Chakra

Ninjas have mastered chakra control and most put it to good use. They can store it in places, such as items or parts of there bodies (see Tsunade). They can increase chakra in one part of the body and increase its strength. All creatures have chakra, but only ninja know how to use it.

Chakra Stimulation

What effects does chakra have on the body? For one thing it makes your hair grow a lot by generating more cells. That is why when the Sound Ninja unleash their cursemarks their hair is longer. Also chakra can heal wounds or increase strength, speed, etc. This however requires chakra control and will waste your energy. With too much chakra use your body can start to weaken and destroy itself. Another example of how chakra effects the body is by looking at Tsunade, she has used chakra to make her look so young.
